My Story

My name is Chris Madrigal and I am a Sports Media Producer. For as long as I can remember, I have always been obsessed with sports and sports culture. Being the son of Oakland A’s and Cal Berkeley Football season ticket holders as well as the grandson of a Nebraska Sports Hall of Fame football player probably had a major part in that. Growing up my fondest memories were going to the Oakland Coliseum on a Saturday summer afternoon to catch a ball game or playing 18 holes of golf with my grandfather in Arizona on spring break. Sports have always been a big part of my life and definitely a central piece of who I am.

After graduating from Sacramento State University I moved to Los Angeles, CA in 2014. I worked in media production for years but didn’t start working exclusively in sports media until 2018. I have covered a variety of sports over the years in several different media formats. But most of my work has been covering sports in the form of documentary film. I have had the pleasure to work on amazing documentary films and series such as Russell Westbrook: Passion Play on Showtime, The Sessions on Amazon Prime, Skin In The Game on ESPN+ and Man In The Arena on ESPN to which we won an Emmy for Outstanding Sports Documentary Series.

As cheesy as it sounds, having the opportunity to tell amazing stories that people love in the world of sports has been an absolute dream. I love the work I do and the content I help deliver to fans all over the world. Sports media is my dream job and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
